Emergency Loans
The car will not start, the water heater died, the bill arrived bigger than expected. An emergency loan is a smaller personal loan arranged quickly to cover a cost that cannot wait. This page covers how fast it realistically moves, what it costs, and the cheaper routes worth checking first.
How fast is fast, honestly
Sending a request through this site takes a couple of minutes, and lenders in the network review requests continuously. If one makes you an offer and you sign, some transfer funds quickly once the agreement is executed. What we will not promise is a clock: funding speed depends on the lender and on how fast your own bank posts an incoming transfer. Nobody who is being straight with you can promise money in a fixed number of minutes.
What you can control is being ready: have your income details, bank account, and contact information at hand so nothing stalls on your side.
What an emergency loan costs
Emergency requests tend to be smaller and shorter, and shorter terms mean less total interest even at a higher APR. As an illustration, $1,000 over 12 months at 19.99% APR is about $93 a month and roughly $1,116 repaid in total. Every repayment term through this network runs at least 91 days, so you are never facing one crushing repayment date a few weeks out.
The lender you choose shows you the APR, the term, and the total in writing before anything is final. Read it even when you are stressed. Especially when you are stressed.
Check these cheaper routes first
A loan is not always the answer. Many hospitals, utilities, and even repair shops offer payment plans if you ask, sometimes at no interest. Your bank may cover a small gap cheaper than a new loan. If the timing is the only problem, a bill's due date can often be moved with one phone call.
If none of those fit and you do borrow, borrow the size of the actual problem, not a rounder number. The $600 repair does not need a $2,000 loan.
After the emergency
Once the dust settles, two things are worth an hour of your time. First, run our loan payment calculator and check whether paying the loan off early would save meaningful interest; many lenders allow it without penalty. Second, start even a small cushion so the next surprise is smaller. Federal Reserve survey data has shown for years that a large share of American adults would struggle to cover a $400 emergency in cash, which is exactly why this page exists.
If your emergency is really several debts stacking up, debt consolidation is the page to read next. And if your credit took the hit that caused this, see bad credit loans for what to expect.
